Ypsilanti, MI. – The Arbor Prep Gators girl’s basketball team honored their three seniors then took the court right after and dominated the Soldiers of Genesee Christian by a score of 65-25.
The gators honored Seniors Stacy & Stephanie Utomi and Taylor Wallace. The Utomi twins have committed to Mercer University in Georgia and Wallace is still looking over her offers as more come in.
The Gators started fast from winning the tip-off and led early on by a dozen points as each starter racked up points. Wallace was on fire as at the half she had hit 5 three-point shots to help build a huge 41-11 lead.
The Gators played their starters sparingly in the second half but Wallace was able to set the school record for most three-point shots in a game with 8. She was 8 of 9 for shooting and if she had played more she could have easily doubled her scores. The gaors cleared the bench letting everyone get a chance to play including the 5 freshmen on the team.
The Gators were led in scoring by Walace’s 24 points, The Utomi twins had 11 points each, and Angela Meggisson chipping in 7.
The Soldiers were led in scoring by Haven Chapman with 12 points, 3 of them 3-point shots. The Soldiers are 3-6 and will visit Fenton Tuesday night.
The Gators, who play one of the toughest schedules in the state, are 8-2 on the season and will be hosting Redford Westfield Prep on Thursday night at 6:30.
