A week after becoming the Penn State field hockey record-setter for most goals scored in a career, senior forward Phia Gladieux had 2 goals against Ohio University to set another record as the Nittany Lion’s all-time points scorer.
Gladieux now has 200 points in her prestigious career and 93 goals, both Nittany Lions records as previously stated. She leads the NCAA this season with 19 goals and is leading everyone averaging 1.46 goals per game in 13 games, averaging 3.23 points per game. She also leads everyone with 42 points scored this season.
Gladieux is in the all-time top 20 with her 93 goals and she’s not finished yet as her 16th-ranked Nittany Lions have 4 more games left in the regular season. She also has cracked the top 25 in all-time points in Division 1.
Earlier this year she became only the fourth Nittany Lion to be selected to represent the USA in the Olympics where she scored the first goal for Team USA. Her speed and awareness help make her an elite player and she has one of the hardest backhand shots in the game’s history. She is a complete player and gives accolades to her teammates and coaches.
She is not just great on the field but off it where she has been named to the NFHCA National All-Academic Team (2021, 2022, 2023) and Academic All-Big Ten (2021, 2022, 2023). She has been a rising star all the way back to her High School career at Oley Valley High School where she was a four-year starter.
Gladieux is an Education major and is the daughter of Bunky and Lynn Gladieux.
