Penn State Field Hockey’s Phia Gladieux Sets Team’s All Time Goal Record

Sunday on the road against a very tough Northwestern Field Hockey team Penn State senior Phia Gladieux scored two goals making her the all-time leader in Penn State history with 91 goals! Gladieux has been on fire all season being named the offensive player of the week last week and leads all NCAA scorers with 17 goals on the season. She has 38 points total and is averaging 1.55 goals a game and has 66 shots on goal this season so far in just 11 games.

Earlier this year she became only the fourth Nittany Lion to be selected to represent the USA in the Olympics where she scored the first goal for Team USA. Her speed and awareness help make her an elite player and she has one of the hardest backhand shots in the history of the game. She is a complete player and gives accolades to her teammates and coaches.

She is not just great on the field but off it where she has been named to the NFHCA National All-Academic Team (2021, 2022, 2023) and Academic All-Big Ten (2021, 2022, 2023). She has been a rising star all the way back to her High School career at Oley Valley High School where she was a four-year starter.

Gladieux is not close to being done yet as she has 6 more regular-season games left against some very tough competition but she has proven time and time again that she and her team are up to the challenge.

Gladieux is an Education major and is the daughter of Bunky and Lynn Gladieux and her older sister Sarah just passed her bar exam.
