Columbus, Ohio – Ohio Dominican Panther’s head coach Lynsey Warren watched her team jump out a huge 9-0 lead over Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon, and that was all she wrote. The Trevecca Trojans battled back throughout the game but never came closer than 8 points giving the Panthers their 17th win of the season and sending their seniors out on a winning note.
The 4 seniors were honored before the game along with their families, Hannah Clark (Glenmont, Ohio), Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio), Brittleigh Macaulay (Big Prairie, Ohio) and Emily Thomas (Pickerington, Ohio), and they combined for 46 of the Panther’s 83 points.
The Trojans clawed back into the game in the second quarter almost matching the Panthers basket for basket but still trailed by 17 at the half. But it was the Trojans taking over in the third outscoring the Panthers and dropped 26 pulling within 8 late in the third. But the Panthers were too much and had too much firepower going on a 14-2 run early in the fourth to seal the deal.
The Panthers hit 49% from the field and outrebounded the Trojans 40-33. They also forced double digits in turnovers capitalizing for 19 points. Fisher led the Panthers with 17 points while Kennedy Schlabach put up 15, and Angela Troyer 14. Senior guard Emily Thomas came off the bench and had 11 points, 3 from the 3 point range. Alli Kern led the Panthers with 17 rebounds.
Trevecca’s Olivia Pepperman led all scorers in the game with 20 points, while her teammate Kaitlynn Wilks had 14. Olivia Stephens led her team with 11 rebounds.
Ohio Dominican begins the G-MAC tournament quarterfinal at Findlay Tuesday at 5:30 P.M.
