Detroit, MI. – When Birmingham Seaholm High School needed to move the ball for a big gain or pick up that tough first down on the football field they would call out Andrew Lockhart’s number because they knew he could deliver. And he would.
Lockhart, the 2022 5th top-ranked high school running back in the state of Michigan by Prep Red Zone, transferred to Seaholm from Detroit Edison in 2020 and he has excelled on and of the field.
Recently he received the news that he was selected to the All American Blue-Grey team where some of the best football players in the country play and have played including NFL players J.J. Taylor and Patrick Mahomes. Lockhart was one of only two players selected from the state of Michigan. He will be playing the game in January 2022 and it will be broadcast live on ESPN.
He has received multiple offers and is gaining much interest from many Mid-American Conference teams and he has not made any decisions yet. He is mulling all offers over and plans to commit in February of 2022.
Lockhart has a rich history of football as his cousin is Dwan Mathis, former Oak Park superstar, Ohio State recruit, and starting quarterback at the University of Georgia. Mathis now is the starting quarterback at Temple.
“My favorite position to play is whatever it takes to help my team,” Lockhart stated. “I just like being an athlete and on the field, it doesn’t matter if I’m playing defense or special teams.”
Lockhart is described as a G-d fearing individual who has a lot of faith and works harder than anybody on the field by far. He is a very coachable individual and will be a great asset to any team he ends up playing for.
Lockhart is the son of Derrick and Alicia Lockhart.
