Stockbridge, MI. – The Panthers of Stockbridge played host to the Arbor Prep Gators on Friday night and were looking to get their 8th win of the season but it was not meant to be as the Gators put on a huge second-half show scoring almost half their point total in the half.
Both teams came out strong and battled hard in the first half with the Gators taking only a 5-point lead into the half leading 31-26. But in the third quarter, it was all Gators and that’s really how it was as Gator Head Coach Scott Stine had his girls pumped and they scored 21 points in the quarter keeping the Panthers completely scoreless!
In the fourth quarter, Stine made many substitutions to get everyone a chance at experience, including the 5 freshmen on his varsity team. The Panthers scored 13 points in the quarter but it was nowhere close for a comeback.
The Gators were led in scoring by the 3 seniors Stephanie Utomi with 15 points and 8 rebounds, Taylor Wallace coming off her record-setting 3-point game Saturday had 15 points, and Stacy Utomi had 12 points.
The Gators are 10-2 on the season and will hit the road again Tuesday night at 7 P.M. at Parma Western.
