Ypsilanti, MI. – The Arbor Prep Gators defeated the DCD yellowjackets in a very tough matchup Tuesday night 52-38. Then in less than 24 hours, the Gators dominated Romulus 66-31.
The Gators against DCD started out strong scoring the first 8 points and dominated the first period with a massive 17-5 lead. In the second DCD tried to battle back but the Gators forced a lot of turnovers taking a big 32-18 lead into the locker room at the half. The Gators came out strong in the third but DCD never gave up and battled back in the fourth to cut the Gator lead to 8, the closest DCD came all night.
Gators Head Coach Scott Stine called a time-out to get his girls focused back on the game with 4 minutes to go in the game and it worked as the Gators were able to finish the game on top.
The Gators were led in scoring by Stacy Utomi with 15 points and, 4 assists, her twin sister Stephanie Utomi had 13 points, 11 rebs, and 6 assists, Taylor Wallace had 10 points, Angela Maggison 6 points, and Tyra Wright 6 points with two really deep three-pointers.
In Wednesday night’s game, the Gators were in total control in their huge victory over a 17-2 Roumulus team. After which they honored senior Kayla Covington, the lone senior on the team who is going to play at Wayne State next year.
The Gators were led in the huge victory by Stephanie Utomi with 18 points and 12 rebounds, Taylor Wallace with 17 points, Stacy Utomi with 15 points, Eliza Bush with 9 points, and Angela Meggisson with 7 points and 7 rebounds.
The Gators are 14-5 on the season and will travel to Pewamo Westphalia Saturday for a 1:30 tipoff.
